Importance of Amendment 18 and Amendment 21: History and Explanation

    Amendment 18:

We believe that the eighteenth Amendment was important at the time of its ratification because alcohol was a dangerous drug if used in an abusing way. For example, there would be a lot of diseases formed from the cause of drinking too much toxic alcohol, and possibly, there might be fatal accidents, too. However, Amendment 21 was also essential because we think Amendment 18’s repeal was necessarily. That’s because sometimes, it is good to have dinner or a party with alcohol and enjoy a new drink.

    Amendment 21:

The history of why Amendment 18 was added was because the industry on alcohol was going too high and that many people saw the “evils of drinking”. The common people felt that the production, sale, and use should be prohibited. For Amendment 21, the history behind it was that after Amendment 18 was passed, there were just too many cases on handling alcohol. There was also a lack of enforcement, and too many people were opposed to the Prohibition. Thus, Amendment 21 repealed Amendment 18.
